Ok heres the problem. I hav an asus a7m board with a t-bird 1.4 ghz cpu and a geforce2 ultra card. Skipping in games shouldnt be a problem as far as Im concerned. However, every game I play, such as quake3 for example, skips like it's trying to read data from somewhere real slow I dont know how to explain it exactly. counterstrike does it too. I tried installing new gfx drivers and sound drivers for my hercules game theater card too. No go. If anyone knows what could cause this problem, please reply!! it's really getting to me. I cant play anything right. Thanks in advance for any advice pertaining to my problem. It's much appreciated.

What resolution are you trying to play at? You maybe playing at too high a resolution for your videocard.

Most likely though, you may have missed installing a motherboard driver. You need to install the VIA 4in1 drivers, except for the AGP driver. Then you need to install the AMD inf, then the AMD AGP driver. If you missed any of those, make sure to install them.

Hey

You might have a wrong display rate set up, or there could be a directX version conflict or something of that sort. Try installing the Via 4 in 1 drivers, then overwriting the AGP drivers for your vid card. Hope it works.
