when i was young, my mom would put something she calls iodine (red stuff) on skin splits due to cold, dry weather.
i dont know the real name of it. it was basically A skin wound protectant and acted as an Antiseptic.
neosporene wears off after you wash your hands. i see the the iodine staying on, due to the fact that the wound is still covered in red stuff.
anything better than 'iodine' nowadays?
