Ski reccomendations

I am getting ready to hit stores to buy new skis before the season begins. What do you guys reccomend for light powder (AKA not deep at all). I am thinking Volkl V3 Carvers..... any ideas?

What kind of powder are we talking about, light Utah/Colorado stuff or the nasty cascade cement I deal with.
