Skate 2

I really enjoyed Skate and this is looking even better. Check the article--if they can pull of these visuals with a solid 60 frames I'm going to be floored (like Burnout Paradise).

Skate surprised everyone last September by besting the competition not only critically but also on the sales charts -- a wake-up slap that's prompted that other franchise to take its first yearly break in nearly a decade. "You know, it's interesting," says DeLong. "We didn't get into this to say 'Let's bury another game.' For us, it was, 'There's a skateboarding game out there, it does well, and people like playing it.' But we had a different thing we wanted to do, and we did."

-EDIT-
Just saw this trailer: http://kotaku.com/5032179/skat...oarding-video-goodness

I'm so glad Skate knocked Tony Hawk off it's perch. People always complained about EA rehasing shit year after year, but Activision is just as bad. This will be the first year we won't have a new Tony Hawk game since PSOne days (1999 is when they started I think?).

Skate kicks ass so i'm sure the sequel will be even better. I actually just started playing Skate about two weeks ago. I'm glad they opted for realism as opposed to how many ridiculous combos you can pull off in 10 seconds in a city landscape that looks more like a giant skate park. It was a welcome change for me as I've been playing TH games since the first one on the PS, but have grown progressively bored by them. Although I did enjoy Proving Ground.. It actually reminded me of THPS 2, which is my favorite in the series.

Wowsa, that is looking awesome. The one thing that kinda bothered me in skate was that a lot of the tricks have overlapping controls. This made a few of the "missions" and the s-k-a-t-e games rather cumbersome.
