So, I'm ordering in this board, and have a question. What's the difference between ECC and Registered ECC? or are they just different names for the same thing? Will Kingston Valueram PC3200 512MB DDR 400MHZ CL3 ECC work well? Or do I need something that explicetly states "Registered ECC"?

Added this question:

Apparently the Promise SATA controller on this board supports Raid 0+1. Isn't that just two Raid 0 array's mirrored to each other? Yet, the Promise controller is only dual channel. How do you get 4 drives running (Raid 0+1) with only two channels?

Registered DIMMs have extra chips on that separate the RAM chips from the common bus, electrically. This makes setups with lots of DIMMs much more feasible and stable at high frequencies.

So yes, if you're going for socket-940, you're going to need proper Registered DIMMs. Get a matched pair of absolutely identical DIMMs to make good use of the dual channel setup.
