If the fan is suposed to blow air down to the heatsink, why on earth does the instruction sheet that came with the HSF have a 'final installation' picture showing the opposite??
After turning the fan upside-down (decal facing the heatsink) my cpu temp dropped a little (like 3 degrees C).

Here's the law for ya.

The law for SK-6:
  • The fan blows onto the HS

You can suck it baby for the Pal 8045. (oh ya thought I was talking nasty did ya? hahahaha, nah!!)

Yeah, I know that the fan should actually blow onto the heatsink, but the installation instruction that came with my sk6 has a picture showing the fan installed and aparently sucking air from the heatsink not blowing. The decal of the fan shouldn't be visible after installation, it should be facing the heatsink not you.
BTW the fan is a delta fan and got it from newegg.

I don?t think you should blow down....heat moves up....when you blow down on it you are obstructing natural heat dissipation....arent you?

You want to cool the fins on the HS. Besides on a tower the CPU and HSF is actually sideways with the mobo being vertical, so heat will rise to the top of the case not through the fan. But, I feel that the fan should be blowing on the HS to cool the fins.
