SK6 And Panaflo L1A Enough For A XP 1700+?

I want a quiet but adequate cooling solution for my XP1700+ . I would go for a Alpha 8045 but it's more expensive and I've already spent enough on my computer. So my question is will the SK6 and a panaflo L1A be enough to cool the chip? My XP 1700 is locked so oc'ing won't be much of an issue besides how far I can push it without unlocking it. I don't mind if it runs a bit warm, just as long as I can go to bed with my computer on, which is my ultimate goal. Does anyone else have this setup? If it won't work then I guess I'll just spend the extra 7 or 8 bucks on a 8045.

You could probably push your 1700+ to 2000+ speeds by overclocking the FSB; many people on this forum do just that.

It should be enough, but just note, the SK6 is not intended for use with 80mm fans. Your system could overheat under load; I would highly recommend that you go for the $29 PAL8045 instead.

I've got my XP 1600 @ 1.66GHz/1.85Vcore at 42 idle/47 full load with an SK6 and a 36CFM sunon 80mm I mounted using the 45Degre method. I'm using the fan sucking away from the heatsink.
I've got 2 80mm fans sucking hot air out of the back of the case (SX840).

If you've got adequate case cooling, and L1A should be able to do the job.

I am using that exact setup on my XP 1800+ at 1.6. Only a slight overclock but that is all I could get without unlocking the chip.

that would be pleanty. I would have gotten the sk-6 but i'm looking for something that mounts with the four screws and not the tabs.
