AMD ATHLON XP 2600 /333 FSB PROCESSOR 2.1Ghz

What heatsink/fan combo should I use?
I was just going to run the retail HSF(+~$8), but someone said that would not cut it.
So I am thinking about the SK-7(~$25), which fan should I run with this. I need it quiet and it must cool well enough to justify the 5x the cost of the retail hsf for me. I am on a budget so keep it under $15 if you can.

also, something from www.newegg.com would be good cause I am purchasing most everything from them

I love newegg (right now wearing their LAN party tee shirt) BUT check out svc if you want to buy an sk7+ or an sk800a for better prices, fast shipping etc.

That's all this dumb bunny has to say...

Temp sensitive? You mean one that adjusts temps on its own? They tend to be more annoying and not the best functioning in my opinion. The fans like the YS Tech that you can adjust yourself are much better.

As for the stock HS, it is designed to adequately cool the processor at its stock speed. As long as you are not OCing and dont mind the noise it will be fine. AMD would not give you a HS that killed their processors.

Get the AS3 at SVC. Newegg is going to charge you $5 shipping for it. I think you would be better off with the YSTech fan as well. The temp sensor for that fan is somewhere on the fan. Therefore it is measuring case temps more than processor temps. Notice that at 45c the Enermax fan is only putting out 21CFM. Depending on where the sensor is, you may never reach that temp even. The adjustable fan will barely even change speeds at any temp. With the YSTech, you can change the speed manually to fit your quiet and OCing needs. The AX7 is a good HS, but the SK7 is a bit better. You might be 1-2c cooler with the SK7 if that matters to you.
