SK-6 Cooling Question

I have a SK-6 heatsink with an 80mm fan turned 45 degrees so it sits like a diamond on the heatsink. I am currently running a Tbird 1.2 on this rig. Would this heatsink suffice if I upgraded to a 2100+ Tbred b? I'd like to try my hand at overclocking it.....but I'm not sure if it will "cut it" for this task. I'm also running a A7V333 so I have no pci or agp locks so I'd hafta keep everything at around 166mhz fbs. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As long as you're using a mid to high CFM 80mm fan it'll be fine for some mild o/cing, I've used a GC-68 with a 52cfm 80mm fan and been able to o/c a 1600+ to 1.8 ghz stable and I know the SK-6 is a better cooler. Obviously your temps will be higher than if you were using a true 80mm sink like the SLK-800 but they should still be well within the "safe zone".

My other setup is SK-6 w/ Sunon 80mm fan (diamond arrranged) on a XP1700+ T-bred. Temp seems good (can't remember the temp reading).

The best is try it out 1st on the XP 2100+ B. I think u'll be fine. Do chk out the CFM output of ur current 80mm fan. Like DAPUNISHER said...mid level fan like those w/ 35CFM & above will be sufficient.
