I am using Windows Media Center in Vista to record a 30 minute TV show that comes on every day. The quality setting has always been set to "Best." For the last few months, the shows were about 1GB, now they are always at least 3GB. The visible quality seems the same.
I am recording shows over-the-air with my Hauppauge 1600 card from my local PBS station. The shows are old (1980's and 1990's). Is it possible that they were being broadcast in SD and the station has now started broadcasting in HD?
