Your thread byline "GOP needs to stop Fillibustering" leaves me wondering if you've read the article you link. No where is any mention made of filibustering. (I would think Repub citizens/voters would aprove of their party members' filibustering Dem proposed legislation they oppose, don't you agree?).

Rather, the article (and poll) merely reinforce the unpopularity of Congress. If you account for the 3% margin of sampling error, both Dems & Repubs are disliked equally. IMO, not really a surprise.

Would be nice to know the breakdown of Dems, Repubs and Indies responding in this poll. However, that info is not supplied even though they apparently have it:

"A majority of Americans say that in the long run, the United States will be safer from terrorism if it stays out of the affairs of countries in the Middle East. But there is a sharp party divide on the issue ? 73 percent of Democrats, 60 percent of independents and 28 percent of Republicans agree."

Not only does the above indicate they have the breakdown from respondants, but highlights that the Dems & Repubs have diametrically opposed viewpoints.

Also, you failed to mention that the polling indicates an upward trend in "war" support. Prety important, if not interesting IMO.

Finally, your anaylsis "This just proves that Americans see through the Republicans' evil ploys" in UNsupported by the content of the article.

I want to nominate this for BS thread title of the year.

The title of the piece linked in the OP is
?Poll: American Support for War Inches Up?

And yet the thread title is
?Sixty-Five Percent of Americans Disapprove of GOP in Congress:
GOP needs to stop Fillibustering?

And notice that the disapproval rate for Democrats is 59%, not a whole lot better than Republicans.

The most interesting thing about all of this is that support for the war is going UP!!
Thanks for the info Hacp.
Maybe the Democrats in congress should just shut up on the war for a few months and give the military a chance to do their job.

Republicans need to continue filibustering till 2008 to remind the voters why they should be thrown out.

Wait what is that tired old excuse the Dems use to defend their horrible raitings? Oh yea, "people generally approve of their own congressman, just not the rest of congress" or something like that.
