Ordered the BFG GTX280 OC from TD for $400-50 MIR = $349 +S/H. Comes with Far Cry 2 (looking to trade that as well, I hate the DRM software). I can keep my current PSU and not need to upgrade by going to an SLI'd 260 setip, and even with the 260's falling to $200 I felt the 280 was just enough to make playing at 1920x1200 future proof for at least a year.

Is the GTX280 your "consolation prize" for not getting in on the GTX260 deal before BFG ran out of video cards :laugh:?

LoL ... welllll sorta. I PM'd Zap regarding that and he said he could keep an eye on whether there were any 260's remaining floating around, but I decided that the 280 was able to better future-proof my build which is running at 1920x1200.

If anyone would have told me in July that I would be buying the 280, I would have laughed and said they were drinking, but ... here I am buying the damn thing. I've never had such a tough decision buying a video card, and I've been rolling my own since '97, so this is bugging me, but I'm glad I at least made a choice, and I don't have to worry about an upgrade until next Fall at the earliest.

Altho ..... I do like the looks of the Intel SSD units !! Ohhh when will it enddd ??? !!! ???
