There is only 1 reason to vote rebulican today. That and my congresman voted for cap and tax in a northern state. He voted to try and bankrupt me to put money in the pocket of the green movement.

Gridlock plain and simple. Neither pary has earned my trust. I just hope they end up fighting so much that absolutely nothing gets done.

And the Republicans aren't?o_O

hahahahahahaha
good one :)

No, they are just as corrupt, however, perhaps a bit more honest about their intentions of preserving the status quo and concentrating more money and power at the "top."

After the Republican takeover, I really see the country changing. Everything's going to be wonderful. The middle class will thrive. And if that happens during the next two years, despite the ongoing gridlock, I'll credit the righties anyway because you just gotta believe.

One itsy bitsy bit of clarification I need though. This "taking the country back" stuff: How did the righties find so many multi-gazzilionaires - contributing hundreds of millions to (anonymously) fund pro-Republican ads - who expect absolutely nothing in return for their hundreds of millions, except to "give the country back" to the little people? It's so heart-warming.

Obamacare repeal???
My employer just sent out new insurance renew papers. Due to "OBAMACARE", it says you can now add a kid up to 26 of age to your policy. AND... if you had hit the 1 million cap insurance companies impose, and were dropped, you can now get back on insurance (since caps were eliminated thru "OBAMACARE").

Soooo.. they want to repeal "OBAMACARE"? Have at it republicans... Make my day!!!

Where have you been Esk? Haven't seen you in a while.

The combination of my program and some work I've been doing for the state department has me tied up. In addition, the ignorance and insanity of a large number of the people who post here is too much for me to handle.

People who don't want their medical insurance to drop their kids when they get brain cancer are communists.

Do you really think the R's are going to pick up seats solely due to huge campaign expenditures? That might contribute, but I don't think that's the real cause. Right or wrong, congress' job is to represent its constituents. Voting for a bill which your constituents oppose should get you fired, even if the bill is the right thing to do. If I hire someone to build me a house and give him a design that is ugly and terribly designed, then he builds me a great looking house, I'd still probably fire him because he didn't give me what I wanted. The reason is simple: I thought my design was better and I don't like to be told I'm wrong.

Yeah, um, about half of the things on there I specifically do not like.
The other half is mostly stuff that means nothing. What little is left over doesnt actually do much to help the country and will run out of funds soon. And doesnt make up for all the other money he's stealing left and right.

But, that does drive home the point that Democrats accomplish more than Republicans.

Of all things that matter, restrictions on firarms must surely be the least important, it's the standing joke in the rest of the world, you actually think your right to carry a gun increases your freedom while the government restricts your REAL freedoms year by year?

Where have these real restrictions on your freedoms come from, was it Reagan? GHB? Clinton? GWB? Obama? Three of them, step by stem and none of those three were democrats.

But i suppose owning plinkers that you can't really expect to do sheit with against a government who controls the military is a more important freedom than say... being able to express how you feel over the phone with a friend without having to worry about if your call is being listened in on.

Warrantless wiretaps, warrantless searches, detention on suspicion and special out of the legal system treatments for some people, is that the freedom you think is awesome and that the pubs (as you call them) have brought you?
Both the conservative and liberal governments have taken many rights, thats true.
Which is why at the very least I want my 2nd Amendment rights to stay. That one protects all the others. If 1984 or V for Vendetta ever happens, I want the citizens to have a fighting chance. At the very least they should make the government sorry for what they did, and restoring their communist "order" should be so unpleasant as to make it not worthwhile.
But I am also not happy about all my other rights being shat on. I am glad at least one of them seems to be getting restored. The supreme court ruling on city bans also pleases me.

I dont want to be afraid of my government. I want my government to be afraid of me.

The right has taken control of the house and have tightened the senate because of the economy. Not because of the health care bill. Not because of Commie Obama. Not because the Administration is out of touch. No, it's entirely because of the economy. Let's not pretend this election was about anything else.

The farce is that anything is going to change legislatively during the next two years. Nothing is going to change.

There have been a lot of shitty fail threads in ATPN over the years, but PJABBER is valiantly trying to outdo all of them put together with this one.

Maybe a good reason to vote GOP is that they'll start another useless/expensive as fuck war and we can accelerate our debt and finally get rid of like 80% of the military.
