14 year olds do stupid shit. Unless I have clear and direct evidence that Ted Cruz is a shit father I'm not going to say anything against him. You can be a shit person and a great father just like you can be a shit father and (publicly) perceived as a great person.
His daughter may have demons that have nothing to do with him and were not put there by him.
Hope this kid gets some help and sees a brighter road ahead of her.
While that thinking might be sound and good in theory, its also willfully ignorant. He literally fucking blamed one of his daughters for why he ran to Mexico when Texans were dying after the state was unprepared for a harsh winter due to his inept representation. Its pretty goddamned apparent he's both a shit person publicly and also privately. Now, that doesn't mean there might not be even worse fathers out there (speaking personally, I've come to realize that absentee fathers turned out to possibly be the best fathers I could have expected), but its pretty safe to say he's not a good father.
I'm confident in saying, even if he might not have "put those demons there" (eye roll, sorry that's a stupid way to frame this), he damn sure has worked to agitate them, as he's done for children all over. Its a shame, and hopefully she gets some good real help and even better if that causes him to reflect on his behavior after personally seeing someone whom he hopefully does love and care about enough, to see how he is negatively affecting people.
I can also predict that's not what will happen and in fact much more likely he'll blame trans people and he'll double down for the 50th time on pushing horrible ideology and blame liberals and a whole bunch of other nonsense instead of taking even a shred of responsibility to his daughter. I'd love to be wrong.
