Sitting in the emergency room right now (Yet another update with more pics!)

I was making lunch when my cat jumped on shoulders and startled me while I had a knife in my hand. The knife slipped and cut off the end of my right index finger at the end knuckle. I am hoping I can get it sewn back on as I wait for the doc. How did your weekend start?

You get a decent amount of pressure/force with a sharp knife right at the knuckle joint and the thing can practically pop right off. No more pressure/force than required to cut a carrot in half.

I know someone who lost a finger and they sewed it back on. You should be fine if you put it on ice and went right away; especially if the knife was sharp and it was a clean cut. I broke my finger this month so it seems like this is not a good month for fingers.
