What's amusing about that scene is that there is a HUGE mistake which the film makers acknowledge -- there were supposed to be gouts of blood coming from his chest from the bullets exiting his body, but the charges didn't go off.
It's an interesting movie, but it gives a horribly distorted view of the war and unnecessarily portrays Americans in a terrible light (killing innocent Vietnamese, killing each other, etc.) Oliver Stone hates America and does his best in every movie to sling sh|t at our country. Wonderful guy.
I was watching Full Metal Jacket a couple weeks ago -- the basic training parts are awesome. That DI was terrific -- brought back some memories!
