I want to test the effectiveness of the anti-spyware tools I use, problem is I have no idea what sites to go to to infect a machine or what software to install that will infect them. I have a "sacrificial lamb" of a system that I'll be doing the testing on, but I don't want to connect it to my network before/during the infection. Hence the need for the installers. I don't need a lot of, just a few should do it. I swear I'm not going to use these maliciously against anyone. I have no problems screwing up my systems, but I would never do that to anyone else. Yes I'm well aware that other people have tested anti-spyware tools before, however it's usually Paid vs. Free. What I want to do it test the ones I use and see how well they do their job. Much appreciated to anyone that can help me out.

Thanks for the links. I couldn't even download surf sidekick while on this system. AVG caught it as a virus. On my test system, I was able to clean out the stuff from the other three. Much appreciated. Anyone have other links?

What anti-spyware & virus scan apps are you using? A lot of various malware gets download by trojans. Usually the vundo variants, surf sidekick, and e2give can get tricky to remove once they are installed.

The ones I'm using are Ad-Aware, Spybot, Windows Defender & Hijack This. I also have several registry scanners I use after I run the spyware scanners. I'll probably have to hunt down some nastier spyware and try and see if I can get rid of it. :)
