Sites for learning German?

Are there any websites around that do a decent job of teaching you german grammar and vocabulary? I don't mean just stuff for travel, but basically an introduction to the language in general. If there are some good books too that you know about, I'd be interested in that too.

Thanks,

Dave

I'd hit up your public library (or check their website if they have one). You are much more likely to find high quality material there.

There's not much that's going to be offered for free over the internet. You can always listen to some German talk radio to help get an ear for the language, though.

Michel Thomas Language tapes available from Amazon.com. Better than anything out there. Believe the hype! 😀

I'm thinking of studying abroad in Goethe for a semester cause my cousin works there (he's German). You liked it there?
