I was just wondering where to get some nice headlight bulbs. I don't need blue or anything illegal. Is blue illegal? Just want bright whites🙂 Factory bulbs are getting on my nerves.

xenon lamps.. those high end mercedes, bmw, lexus, infinity, caddy's have them.. they are white,, pure white (actually it looks differnet from the rest, its stands out).

Go to your local auto store and see what they have got. I unfortunatly dont have an option.. mine is a sealed unit (atleast on the toyota, the bmw is a bulb based but so far I havent blown a bulb).

awww come on,🙂 those bright lights coming at me are terrible on the eyes, whether it's riced or not!🙂

If you must use them, make sure you get them adjusted properly so they aim in the right direction!

Xenon lamps are expensive ($2000+ per set) and require auto leveling devices to keep from blinding oncoming drivers. Try lights like the PIAA XTRAs or similar types. They are street legal and have the same wattage as default lamps (55/65W) so they won't overload your wiring. They have a small mix of Xenon in the bulb to make it a little brighter.

Way to go windogg, its about time people start to be informed about headlights! Everyone who wonders about lighting go read THIS PAGE its written by a guy I know, Daniel Stern, who really knows his stuff.

edit: If you want more indepth info, specifically on your superwhites, try THIS LINK

You could opt for the xenon-metal halide-arc lamps like on the real expensive cars (but expect to pay $500+ each!). If you install these you must also install a self-levelling system at the same time. Basically, it's very expensive and difficult to retrofit such lamps - I wouldn't bother trying.

You could use higher power incandescent lamps - but you will probably need to change the reflectors/lenses to ones that can withstand a higher temperature, and wiring/relays/fuses and circuit breakers to ones which can withstand a higher current. There are also laws which state the maximum wattage allowable (which just happens to be what the car comes with).

Thanx soybomb🙂 Well i was only going for newer bulbs, nothing drastic. I knew about the hid lights, and no way would i give a civic headlights costing about 1/15th the cost of the car🙂
