Sites adding links to my favorites folder

Couldn't figure out which forum to put this in, figure putting it here would be the place least likely to get me yelled at
Anybody know how to make IE not let websites add their links to your favorites folder?
Also, some websites change my freakin' homepage!
I got PopUp Killer to take care most of the problems, but these still persist.
And yes, these problems are most often encountered when browsing ~nasty~ sites.

Try disabling javascrip and activex controls.

That will tighten up IE, but a lot of more legitimate sites won't work as well probably.
