Site Won't Open

Greetings,

I have been lurking regularly, but not posed for a while.

I have an office with 3 WinXP systems and 1 Win98 system. All of the XP systems will go to "appraiser.pascogov.com", but the Win98 system refuses to connect. It gives no error, it just won't connect to the site.

I have contacted the webmaster (a local county government site), and they have no idea what could be wrong. I can go to other of their sites that reside on the same server, just not this one.

Any ideas on what settings I might change to correct this???

I'd try resetting Internet Explorer settings to defaults, and working my way out from there.

You could download and try Firefox, even if its just to see if it works.

What version IE is on Win98 machine?

Can you try maybe OPERA to see if it is an inherent problem with the 98 machine?

Thanks for all the tips guys!

We tried default settings, and installed Firefox as well as the HOSTS fix all to no avail.

The were finally able to get through to their senior webmaster and his idea was that some systems might have trouble with the frames they use on that site, and he suggested that I use "appraiser.pascogov.com/main.asp", and that worked like a charm.

Using that, I don't get the pretty header, or the graphic links on the left upper side of the page, but everything else is there, including the same links as text on the bottom of the page
