chaseonline.chase.com (Chase's online banking site) has been under maintanance for the past 6 days. Ouch. Somebody's head is going to roll.

I have a Bank One account (recently merged with Chase). My bank will be switching to Chase soon. :(

This doesn't bode well for the switchover.

From an e-mail I received July 14th:

In order to ensure a smooth transition to the new site, online services will be unavailable between July 20th and until July 27th. Starting July 27th, access will be available to our new upgraded site.

Wow that's ridiculous. 7 days of outage for a site upgrade?

Thanks for posting that email; I never received one.

Wow, 7 days that's insane. Is the upgrade related to merger with Bank One or just new features?

A 7 day outage for any corporation that large is very, very poorly planned, period.

The only acceptable explanation would be if they're doing a merge with Bank One, where simply the merge process itself is taking 7 days.

I HATE Chase. I got a MasterCard through them, and it didn't take long until EVERY FREAKING NIGHT their side companies were calling me from India to get me to sign up for their insurance. One of them ended up charging my card without approval. Then they didn't send us a bill one month and we got charged a late payment fee.

My wife and I finally got fed up with that card and cancelled it, cut it up.

Absolutely. There is no reason they couldn't have done a switchover to a new system in just a few hours max.

I got an offer for like fifteen monthes 0% with no transfer fees, so they cut me a check for 10k. They called back, asking if I was satisfied and if I wanted to do another transfer. I said yeah, but my limit was only 10k, so they bumped it to 15k and cut me another check for 5k. They then went on the insurance scheme, I said no, but they put it on anyways. Of course they charged my card whatever the cost was which put me over my 15k limit. I called them back telling them I was disputing the charge. They took it off and canceled it. No problems since then, other than this week long outage. There was something on there website saying it would be ready on monday, now it sounds like they are pushing it out 2 more days. Somebody must have fvcked something up.

They cut me a check, have it just sitting in my bank account. Looking to spend it on a boat, but haven't found one yet.

Just wait until that 0% expires. They know exactly what they are doing. Your rate is going to jump up to 35% and you will be so screwed because no other card is going to give you that 0% transfer rate for such a high amount.

I'm not sure what the exact apr is after may of next year, but the balance will be 0 by then. either the balance will be just paid off or just transfered to another 0% card offer.

Chase just withdrawed $8 from my checking account because I was under their minimum amount for free checking. Apparently they haven't moved my investment account from Bank One yet, which would have put me back over the limit.

I'm already disliking Chase.
