EDIT: Ah-hah! Found it!

It's this guy. Not bad for 20 year old memories, eh? Totally not Star Wars related - but it sure does LOOK a lot like a Y-Wing (again, after 20 years of memory fading has gone by) doesn't it?
=========================
Trying to remember this toy I had WAY back. It broke up into sections - the cockpit was vaguely like a Y-Wing, and the frame of it sort of slid off some kind of rectangular body (with a sticker texture on top to make it look roughly like the inside of the canopy) that housed batteries so the little red lights for the front blasters could fire when you pushed a button.

Anyway, the back was very NOT like a Y-Wing. In fact, it had wings. And two little grey three-wing jobbies on the ouside edges that could slide out. And a socket in the middle of the back for an R2 droid figure. And directly in the center of the back - I GUESS and engine or something. It was a grey tube that would come out of the craft.

Obviously, nothing seen in any of the 6 Star Wars movies, but I'm quite sure on those details of it, and I cannot find ANYTHING on Google. So, was looking for sites that might just specialize in classic toys, but...not having much luck.

Correct. The toy had the head and (IIRC) neck of that. And the two blasters coming out of the bottom of the head where lit red when you pushed a button (very Christmas-tree-bulb looking, but squarer).

The back was totally different - first, the R2 droid socket was much further back. It also only had 1 ?engine? in the center of the back, and it definitely had wing-like things.
