I'm almost done with a site for a plumbing company in my area. I'd like to know what you guys think of the design/graphics/layout, etc. Don't worry about the text, that isn't finalized yet.

The news.asp page is run off of a database, you can go to newsman.asp and mess around with it, if you want.

Thanks in advance.

On the SQL statement, make the last news item first, in descending order.

Just add something like "ORDER BY Date DESC", where Date is the date collumn in your database.

the site's design is kewl. functional and professional -- it's a great representation of their business. though (and this is personal preference) the news section w/ the white text over a navy row, and that blue column seems out of place. maybe you can change the colors a bit? overall though, the site is great! :)

I'm also working on a big website project ... and my headaches (literally) are beign cause by it. Everything is asp driven, and I'm trying to convert to better database format.

I would love to share the project with you huys, bthe problem is that I don't have anywhere to host it, since I was stupid and DSN connections for the database. And my computer would crash if I posted the link to it on Anandtech. :(

But great site (and superb graphics) BTW. :)

thanks for the comments so far, guys. I'll try to integrate the news postings with the rest of the site better, raDragon.

That all your base posting was by one of you guys on here, I'll be sure its there when I present it to the big guys at the company ;)

<< RS.MoveFirst is a method that moves the record pointer (for now, consider this to be an imaginary structure that always points to the current record in the Recordset) to the First record. By default, it may or may not be positioned correctly, so it is imperative to position it before you begin any operations. >>

That's false, btw. Well, you described the method MoveFirst properly, but not the part about it being required.

If we opened recordsets and had our cursor pointing to a random location, we'd have more problems than having to simply call MoveFirst.

Btw, nice site.

Looks really good. I think the second level menus are a little unintuitive though. How about putting the second level menus on the left side going down instead of just under the top level menu? After using Yahoo for so many years, I got used to having my current location in the hierarchy displayed where that second level menu is :).
