I would think smoking pot has close to the same effect as drinking and driving... yes/no?

Less harmful than drinking and driving, though still wouldn't recommend it.

Could always tell mommy. :)

it depends, smoking dosen't really affects the driver i think, but if u accidentally drop the cigarette then u have to pick it up or something and then crash

for drinking, it will make u drunk, like crazy etc, u will probably fall asleep, drive fast, go out of the lane, and crash

i sorta say no

It's no way near as bad as drinking as driving. It does impair reaction time though so I'd recommend against it.

Funny you should mention that.. I actually was talking to our other sister about this and evidently she did go to mommy. Now my sister who does smoke is pretty pissed at me for talking about it at all.

That's why I'm asking the question.. I want to know how bad it really is...

Smoking cigarettes while driving = rude for the passenger if they don't smoke.

Smoking pot while driving = dangerous for everyone on the road.

Smoking pot inhibits your reaction time; if you love your sister, find a way to make her stop, if you don't love your sister, find a way to make her stop before she hurts or kills someone! :|

The OP is really a narc, for all of you that hinted that you may have had a puff in the past, the swat team should be arriving right about now.

SHE IS DRIVING WHILE DOING IT.

I got nothing wrong with people smoking pot, as long as they act responsibly. If someone smokes pot while driving I hope they get punished as severely as possible.

Thanks for the opinions so far everyone. I really just want to get as many as possible. I want to show her this thread because when I say that I think its horrible that she's smoking while driving, she just responds that I have no idea because I do not smoke. If I can get enough opinions from fellow smokers that agree with me, maybe she'll see the light?

I've done it and I know it's not as safe as driving completely sober. If she doesn't realize that, your sister is an idiot and deserves to get her car taken away from her. How old are we talking here, btw?

It's not as bad as drinking - I can smoke and drive, although it's a bad idea unless I know exactly where I'm going - it's easy to get lost and not to notice things. I've been in a car while the driver smokes and it seems to me like they should just pull onto a side road and puff if they're going to do it, but if I know the person well enough it doesn't bother me terribly - I just keep my eyes on the road and on them.

Good for you.

You are doing the right thing by telling your mom, and maybe your sister will grow up after your mom have a talk with her.

I wish that I told my parents about my 2 slutty pothead sisters when they started doing drugs.

One sister didn't finish high school and had her first kid at 19 year old (total 2 kids).

The other didn't finish 9th grade and had her first kid at 18 year old (total 3 kids with 2 different dead beat drug dealers). She has been on & off the street for over 15 years, and has been in the hospital countless times for alcohol & drugs poisoning. She started out with pot, and now ended up doing anything that she can get her hands on (including opium, crack, and crystal meth).

The rest of my 3 siblings & I doesn't smoke or drink, and we all have post secondary education. One have PHD, 2 have masters, and one have 2 bachelors.

The moral of the story is that, the very least drugs does is inhibit your ambitions.

I have never noticed marijuana to impair anyone's driving ability, besides making them drive to slow and paranoid.

Not a big deal.

This horse has been beaten to death, but there is a reason why stoned people don't kill people in accidents.

If you've never smoked pot, you have no business talking about it. Now, I'm not recommending everyone go get stoned and drive. That's stupid.

However, the fact of the matter is that while yes, being stoned does impair your reaction time, there is a difference as compared to alcohol. You are aware of this fact, and naturally drive slower and more cautiously.

I'm not saying people high on marijuana don't get in accidents. Quite the contrary, I'm sure they get in plenty. You just aren't going to find one going 100 through a red and mowing down a group of pedestrians.

:)
