The clock doesn't show up and the display is black when the radio is on. Is it broke or is a battery dead or can I turn it on somehow? It's a 1999 Grand Am.

pics of car coming when i get the film developed.

Not sure if it was powered by a replaceable watch battery, but prolly not.

In the dash clock, or on the radio?
I think they're one in the same.

I had a radio that the display just crapped out, in a gm. If it's a factory ac delco radio it is a common problem. Replace the radio or just deal with it 😛

If the other functions on the radio work, including the display for channels, tell her to buy a watch and don't sweat the clock...

I'd go with a dash mounted sundial myself...

take it back to the dealer. its obviously a lemon. if they refuse to give you a new car then go to the papers.

How do you know it was purchased at a dealership? How do you know that the clock is not from an aftermarket stereo? A clock can fail and the car is a "lemon"? 😕 Maybe it's a used car and the buyer just didn't properly check the vehicle out before she laid out the cash. Buyer beware... When you purchase 7 year old vehicles - or any used vehicle for that matter - it's your job to know what you are getting before you lay down the cash.

Why bother with lawsuits when you can just pay to have the guy killed? Wouldn't that just be a lot less stressful. I'd go back to the guy who sold the car and hit him over the head with a tube-sock full of woodscrews. No one rips me off!!!!

As a dog lover, I'm not into that at all. However, I'm all for sodomizing the family cat. Possibly even a bit of torture of the Goldfish. i.e tapping loudly on the fish bowl until they can no longer stand it. That'll teach 'em.

You'd then need to tell him that it was his dog that he ate. When he begins to cry, you'll need to lick the tears from his face and mock him for being a crybaby.

There've been no answers about whether this clock is a stand-alone or one integrated into the radio. The OP says "they're one in the same," but I'm not sure how that can be...

It's disturbing to me that fil is being developed to show pics of the car... it's even more disturbing to me that no requests have been made for pics of the sister.

oh yes telling him after you finished the hotdogs is a must.

oh and pics of the sister.

have you tried changing the fuse? it could've gone out...

edit: the same thing happened to my parents car

This is a very common problem. If the clock isn't keeping correct time/displaying correctly, the fix is to replace the battery on the motherboard.

Somewhere under the dash (probably behind the instrument cluster) you'll find the motherboard that runs the car. Pry the instrument cluster away from the dashboard and you should see the motherboard. Remove the small button battery and replace with a new one.

Be sure to reset the CMO CLOCKGEN jumper while you're in there. The car will run better as well as displaying the correct time.

I'm here to help.
