I'm looking at the Foxconn755A01 mb which uses the SIS755 chipset. Ocing is not a priority for me. It looks like the board has everything a good NF3-250Gb board has at a much lower price.
The only problem is that this board has hardly any reviews. There is only one single thread which didn't give much info.

Would a 2phase power supply be insufficient for power requirements nowadays? How would a 3phase power supply be better??

The number of phases isn't a quality criteria. Frequency of regulation is too - and that's something nobody mentions in reviews because it's not easily checked.

There are also pretty decent SiS 755 boards from ASRock and ECS, with more reviews available.

I would avoid the Foxconn, stability issues have been reported. The Ge LAN is also on the PCI bus so it's next to worthless. Pick up the ASRock K8S8X if you're looking for a quality board.

hmm..didn't know the Foxconn 755A01 had stability problems. Had only seen good reviews everywhere and being a huge OEM manufacturer. I never heard of Asrock before and I'd rather stay away from ECS..

Maybe I should just look at the NF3 boards.

AsRock is not = Asus. It is it's own company spun off from Asus.

The ECS 755-A2 is a good buy.

Me shut up? Um, no.

Orangat, there are more SiS chipsets for AMD 64 just around the corner, 756 and up, if you want to wait a bit.

Thanks didn't know Asrock was a spinoff from Asus. ECS is an ok budget
board with rather fair stability - not what I want.

I don't see any value in going up to 939 or dual channel memory
and paying so much more for CPUs. I swore never to use
Via chipsets again and the SiS755 looked really good.
