Just installed my new Asus P4S8X last night, it replaced my Epox 4G4A+ I845G motherboard.

Installed with no problems, nice performaing board. Very dissapointed in the overclocking of my P4 2.8 on it. I struggled to get it to 3.0 stable. On my Epox board, it would run 3.2+ stable.

I assume the problem is with the SIS648 chipset, since all the other components are the same.

Anyone have any similar experiences?

It's not the SiS648 chipset, it's the P4S8X that's at fault. To make my point, take a look at what the Gigabyte 8SG667 can do!

Probably a crappy processor power supply on the motherboard, like the P4T533.
