SiS Debunks Rumor:
I am sure everyone has heard the stories that SiS and others are ?quietly passing? on the new DDR400 spec. I have seen a dozen such reports myself, but they have turned out to be false, according to SiS themselves, here is the word:
Recently, you may see the rumors that SiS is no longer supporting DDR400. Actually, SiS will still support DDR400 in the future. SiS will support DDR-400 formally in the next SiS648 version, the single channel DDR-400 supporting Prescott. In the AMD product line, we also do not withdraw from the DDR-400 support. The following is the statements provided by SiS regarding to DDR400 issue.
"We have reviewed and validated DDR400 DRAM devices," said Stephen Chen, sales VP of Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. "The parts met all evaluation criteria and we look forward to integrating DDR400 DRAM technology into our SiS648FX and SiS746FX chipset to reach even higher levels of performance. As always, we are working closely with DRAM vendors to enable our platforms. They provide tremendous design and enabling resources."
