SIS 330 Graphics Chipset...beware nvidia/ATI?

well, it's not high-end rival, but it'll surely beat the crap out of their low/mid-range models...so the rumor goes.

once they feature this core in an integrated mobo chipset, relatively high performance slim clients will be more viable...something i've been awaiting for a couple years.

pay homeage to sis!

Indeed. This should be a great competitor in the market it's aimed for. Just looking at the specs you'd think it was a high-end competitor, but those 3DMark scores are pretty low compared to what the 8500 and Ti4600 are getting, so I'd venture to guess this'll be around Radeon 7500 - GeForce4 MX460 levels of performance.

i saw some fast ram in the preview over at some site, didn't see any scores though.

IMHO 3dmark is worthless.

EDIT: using a more appropo acronym

integrated Radeon 7500 performance?...i could go for that....

the thing I've always liked about SIS chipsets is, if you'll notice, they always seem to run really cool....none of their chipsets ever require active cooling or even get warm to the touch....though I could see this changing /w their latest integrated chipsets.

and i agree, 3dmark is useless...

the interesting thing about the 330 is that it utilizes the vertex shader via software (CPU)

Not on SiS's web page... any links? I'm definately curious! 😀
If you can get that level of 3D performance on an integrated board - CHEAP - I'm all for it! 😀

SIS seems to be putting out a lot of high quality stuff lately. the 735/745 chipsets were a nice surprise...came out beating the 760 and kt266 ....more competition should be good....drag the whole price chain down a little maybe...probably overoptimistic on that one though

i notice that too.....
it was the best AMD chipset for a while....
then Kt266a came out....recapture the speed king

That SiS735 may not be the fastest there is, but it's still really fast for the price you pay for it!! 😀
Can't wait to see some of SiS's newest releases!

Want to know more then goto vr-zone.com it be on the front page!

This card is differ from ati and nvidia and I own a kyro II so I like playing with stuff from other makers....so I prob buy the top one when it
comes out in a mth.....for now i order a old card "315" it's said to be around a geforce mx200........i know that's not fast but the card was
37 bucks and i wanted to see how well there old stuff does....hahahaha>>>>>>>>
