There can be only one, it's either Sirius or XM at the end.
Let's see which one runs out of money first.

Why's that? do you have some grand economic insight that most of us don't? Directv and Dish both still exist. TIVO and Replay TV still co-exist. I don't understand why these two couldn't, especially when they are just at the beginning of this fledgling industry.

I wouldn't put my money in either satellite radio stock. Especially Sirius. Their stock is trading on hype right now, the amount of money they make doesnt justify the price.

General Motors owns DirecTV and XM. Neither are going anywhere.

Yeah, but it is still down about $0.70 from where I bought it. I hope this increase continues.

satellite radio is here to stay IMO. XM was featured in last month's FSB, and this month's Forbe's. they are doing extremely well for a company that started w/ so much debt, although they're facing many regulation issues w/ the FCC.

as for the sirius vs. XM argument, i predict that they will both continue to coexist. they are attacking the issue of satellite radio through different tactics. sirius' ceo did alot of work w/ cable tv, and feels that locking in major sports deals is a sure-fire way of attracting the demographics base of electronics/tech entertainment, i.e. males 20-45.

however, xm is adapting dj personalities that listeners can relate to. they also have a cheaper subscription and expansive programming.

as long as there are people w/ different preferences, both companies will continue to exist as long as their growth continues as expected.
