My Sirius Sportster (original one) broke so I had to go out to look for another one. I see that they have a newly released Sportster 5, which is replacing the Sportster 4.

The Sportster 5 looks nearly identical to the Sportster 4 with the exception that it has a color screen instead of the backlit black LCD screens that the other ones have.

The resolution on the new screen is absolutely horrible. I have no idea why anyone would make a conscious decision to use that screen. It is so grainy that it hurts my eyes to look at it. I can easily see the red/green/blue pixels from a good distance. Next to it was the XM equivalent, and that one had a beautiful screen on it, the type that you'd see on an Ipod. It was crisp, clear, and vibrant. Too bad that's not an option for me since I have Sirius (and I do like Sirius's programming better).

So I got the last Sportster 4 that they had, with a monochrome LCD screen.

Cliffs: They came out with a new Sportster with a color screen, and they installed a crappy, low-res screen in it which totally defeats the purpose of introducing a new product with a color screen.
