Sirius Satellite Question - What happens to a second subscription when the first ends?

I currently have a year subscription on a Kenwood H2A that runs up in a few months....

I wanted to get a new unit and give my Kenwood to my parents (who have been after mine for awhile now) to run out my subscription and possibly go month-to-month after (depending on if they like it).

My question is, i know when i sign up for the second reciever its billed at $6.99/mo (or $83.88 if i prepay the year), but what happens if my parents dont renew and all that remains is the second sub?
