My g/f asked if I want this for my car. I'm a total music junkie and am attracted to it because I had it in a rental car on a business trip. I liked the fact that it was commerical free and had a metal station I liked. Anyone have the setup? Do you enjoy it over time or is it only a temporary thrill? Your experience?

Thanks in advance.

**Update** let's talk about all types of sat. radio that can be used in vehicles. Isn't XM the one that you can use in the car and then remove to use anywhere else?

I had to drive 9 hours yesteday through bum fsck nowhere on my way to Fargo, ND. I've got Sirius in my car. I don't know how I've managed to live without it at this point.

Being able to get EVERY NFL game yesterday without interruption was a godsend. If you are a sports junkie it's a no-brainer. If you like heavier music, the uncensored rock & metal stations are great.

My only real complaint is that Sirius is...uhhh...seriously lacking in the receiver/tuner department. They have nothing that competes with the small and sleek hardware that XM has.

They are big clunkly gawdy looking things that just don't fit well both physically as well as esthetically in most cars.

Or to those that travel extensively and don't want to bother with CD's/MP3 players.

I've had XM since it started. I travel alot, so it's a must for me.

XM vs. sirius, is a tough call, I would choose on the programming you like best.

I have had loaner cars with built in Sirius and notriced that it looses signal more than my XM self installed XM.

here's my delphi skyfi XM unit

Obviously you don't live in Atlanta... :D

Me, I like Sirius, but that is because my twisted self likes Hawai'ian music. :D And for those HS fans...
