You can listen to him for free now with commercials, and next you will pay $13 a month to listen to him but he can then freely cuss as much as he wants? That's what you're paying $13 a month for? To hear him cuss and use the N-word as much as he wants? I hear cussing everyday for free in person. And I understand there will still be commercials and he is only live 4 days a week?

Seriously what fools are going to pay for this? (If you are then no offense).

 I think you might want to base your opinion on a product based on it's capabilities, not just on one point. Also, you're not paying $13/month just for Stern, but everything on Sirius. Just because I pay for cable doesn't mean I'm only paying to get one of the shows on there. Sometimes the people who hate Stern the most have never listened to his show for more than 5 minutes.

I've listened to Howard Stern for around 12 years now. I was thinking of getting a Sirius radio but it seems like such a damn hassle. First I have to buy a subscription...okay, I can handle that. Good content is worth paying for. But now they want me to buy a Receiver. That would be ok if I could listen to it straight from that device. But now I think I'll need to buy a boombox option, or car option, or home option....or all of the above. That would end up costing like $600! What the hell? Take a hit on the hardware you bastards and make your money on subscriptions. Or come out with a walkman type device that is reasonably priced that I can listen to indoors and out.

I think I'll have to find someplace to download the prior day's show. That'll just be easier.

My car came with XM. I didn't think I was gonna subscribe after the first free month, but I was hooked. I can drive across the country and have crystal clear music all the way across. Opie and Anthony on XM make fun of Howard Stern all the time saying he's a has been. I kinda agree. His stuff gets old real fast.

Sirius sucks, of course. That's why there's XM :D

Once you go to Satellite Radio you never go back to the commercial-laden top-20 playlist of commercial terrestrial radio.

no he is trash

That's your opinion. I think he's great and will be buying a Sirius receiver soon. I need a new HU for my truck anyway so it's not going to cost much extra.

I would pay 13 bucks a month for Stern alone.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I just don't get it with sat radio. I can listen ro radio for free all the time. If there's nothing on, I can just play an MP3 or something.

I can understand for someone who drives all day or drives across the country or something it would be nice, but for others, it seems like a waste. I dunno, to each his own, but I won't be paying for radio anytime soon.

Satellite radio is not really comparable to cable and satellite TV. In the end the market is likely to be largely people that spend a lot of time in their cars commuting or long haul truckers. I liked what I heard on XM when I was slugging in and out of DC and occasionally got to ride in cars equipped with it but now that I spend less than 15 minutes a day in my car I cannot see any reason to get it.

I didn't even want to read the post, but for the OP, you are an idiot. You can get a Sirius Starmate for free after rebate. Comes with a very good FM modulator to use in your car.

I was debating whether to get Sirius or XM and Sirius getting Stern made them the better option for me. I didn't get it just to listen to Stern though, I got it for the commercial free music. I paid $89.00 for a reciever at Target that has both the Car and Home setup. Sirius's Alt Nation Channel rocks and having Stern to listen to occasionally is icing on the cake for me!

That's why O&A copy his bits all the time, huh??

O&A are ok, but nothing great...

are you really that stupid? howard is off the regular radio stations in many markets. none fo the sations in my area carry him. he will be leaving the regular radio for good soon if he hasn't already. the only way to listen to him is to buy a Sirius radio. so they aren't buying it just to hear him swear.
why do people have to be so fvcking retarded?

i love stern and was thinking about getting sirius to hear him but spending $13 a month just to hear him for a few hours a day doesn't seem worth it. i haven't really looked into what other channels they offer but i doubt they have an channels that play the kind of music i like, so its probably still not worth it.
