How many of you have both ?

I love XM but there is a couple oh Ch. i would love to get from sirius. I am thinking of using both in my auto..

I have both right now. Thinking of ditching xm and going with just sirius though.

IMHO the xm signal is easier to get a hold of while driving but i like listening to Stern, so i'm gonna go the programming route over the technology route

XM only , they have baseball and some talk channels that i i want

i don't know of any sirius content that i want, and i would not pay for 2 services

Sirius for me per:

NFL
Maxim Radio
Blue Collar Comedy
Garage Station (lil' stevie van zandt's station)
Left of Center (indie station)

Same here, and agree 100%

I really like O&A too, but I can listen to them online.

I like XM myself. I like their talk channels better. I've never been into O&A or Stern.

Music and Comedy wise, I think they are about equal.

How is overall sound quality on XM and Sirius? I heard on another thread someone say it was worse than FM... true? Not true?

I suppose it may depend on your radio.

I have the Apline XM and Sirius tuners hooked directly to the HU in my truck. Both sound pretty close, I cant really tell the difference.

Edit - Both sound much better than FM

I have SIRIUS, I listen to Howard and the various rock stations as well as others, I haven;t listened to FM since I got SIRIUS. But I have heard the equipment on XM is a step ahead of SIRIUS, but I prefere the programming over the equipment.

I don't pay for either. I spend maybe 10 minutes per day in my car so it just wouldn't make sense to pay for radio. At home I get XM on DirecTV at no additional cost.

<-- Sirius subscriber
<-- XM comes with DirecTV.

I've spent plenty of time listening to both. Sirius in the car and DirecXM while working around the house and I definatly prefer Sirius for their programming... period.

You can hook an XM and Sirius receiver to your Alpine deck? If so, which desk is it? Most are either, or.

I've got Sirius and love it. My brother has XM and just got Sirius, and he likes Sirius better. Better rock stations and Stern. 😉

Yeah, I think Alpine models started in '04 or '05. Its called "Satallite Radio Ready", instead of "XM ready" or "Sirius Ready". When I bought my system, Alpine was the only MFG that was "Satalite Ready", but I think most of the other mfgs have caught up with this years models.

I have the IVA-D901, the XM and Sirius tuners connect serially on the AI-NET port.
