Of course it *can* work on the 4 and maybe even on the 3GS, its just to which extend Apple will to go prevent this from happening (since Siri connects to a server with every command). I wonder if Siri will become another cat and mouse between Apple and jailbreakers. iPad 2 owners must be pissed the most.

I have a 4S and the iPad2 but I can't imagine even wanting to use SiRI on my iPad really. It's useful on a phone but I don't even see when I'd talk to my iPad lol.

But I do love the split keyboard and tabbed browsing mm

Just wait a few months when iPad 3 will be released... with Siri :)

It will take more than Siri on the next iPad to get me to care to upgrade it. :p Actually, I'd like to sell my current one and get a model that can do 3G... mostly for the extra GPS. I would have gotten one in my iPad 2, but a bunch of old ladies who thought their husbands would need lots of space (64GB) and the wireless connectivity bought them. :| (I actually heard them talking ahead of me in line :p)

I think part of the reason why Apple doesn't allow Siri on other devices is because their servers wouldn't be able to take it. It's not like they have the server capability of Google to be able to handle millions of users connecting in at the same time... and Siri is arguably pretty intense stress on those server hardwares.

Well, if they kept the Xserve HW around they might........:)
