If you play the real Sins game--online multiplayer--it's a must have since that's what most people are playing now. Personally, I think it should have been a free bonus pack, but if you play the game competitively online it's still worth the $10 even if it doesn't contain much additional content. The starbases really do add a new strategic element to the game.

Sadly, the game still doesn't have a single-player campaign though lots of people have asked for it. I suspect that they'd like to release one one day. In the meantime you could just download Galaxy Forge-made custom maps (but make sure they've been updated to work on the latest version of the game).

You could try the maps that I've made, but they're really intended for online multiplayer team play (3v3, 4v4, etc.) and not no-teams every-man-for-himself FFA. You can find them here:
