Was invited to go to a singles event at 7:00 at a local pub but I'm not sure what to expect. Do I just go there and be myself or do I walk in prepared to be grilled with questions?

I can already predict your responses..

Rub one out too. It's unwise to walk in with a loaded gun.
Nah, rub one out when you get there. That'll show them that you mean business, and it'll help establish dominance over the herd.

I'm Plaxico Burress, and I approve of this message.

Some times we have to do things in life that make us uncomfortable. But that is the only way we will get over that irrational fear and move on.

I used to be afraid to speak in front of people. So I took speech classes so I would HAVE to do it.
I made it through, so will you. Just do it. But, think before you speak. Don't blurt shit out because you are putting yourself under pressure.

Go in with 0 expectations. You're not there looking for a chick, you're just going to have a couple drinks, and a good time. Be natural. Don't try to impress people. People who try to be impressive come off as douches. They're all people like everyone else, and aren't any better than you are. Have fun :^)

Thanks Chris. That was the perfect adult and inspirational reply I was waiting for.

I too am very nervous with speaking in front of people. Maybe the speech classes would be beneficial. Especially since I'm a manager at a corp now. I found myself in a couple of awkward moments when I had to stand up and speak to the CEO of our company. Shaking nervous hands was very embarrassing.

Off I go. Have a decent shirt, pants, and shoes on. I should be okay.

I am an instructor now. I talk in front of groups of people most everyday.
