single unit air condition vs. fan (cost?)

I'm thinking about getting a single unit air conditioner for my room, since i'm always doing homework or working from home. with the heat + computer, tv or whatever else, my room is usually 2 or 3 degrees hotter than my house. I have the fan on pretty much all day and night until i sleep.

so the question is, how much more does a single unit air conditioner cost compared to a fan on 24/7?

Based upon my last two electric bills, there seems to be no real difference, though this seems just odd to me since AC is known to pull a lot of juice. Maybe fans do to and it's just not well-known?

I run two AC's just about 24/7 in my apartment. The winter bill is around 40-50 dollars, summer bill is about 130-150

If your home already has central AC, the cheapest option would probably be a fan: get a box fan (or something similar that can move a lot of air w/o making a lot of noise) and set it in the open doorway to your room, with the air blowing in.
