I choose the Soltek Soltek SL75-DRV4. Sure, it barely made it to shelves before 2002, but it proved to be a world-beater in performance and overclocks farther than any other socket A board. What are your choices? No AMD 760 based boards were included since their performance proved lackluster. To be included in my nomination, the board had to offer performance, value, or excellent features (or a combination).

I don't think that you can name a single board the "best". There are several boards for different needs. But, I voted for my favorite board and it is the Asus A7N266-E. Has the MX Video which is perfect for me, the nForce APU, Ethernet, and to top it off, has KT266a like overclocking.

Lots of good boards but I voted for the Epox 8KHA+ it`s been great for me.

the dragon has a ton of features! great if you're not into buying expensive add-on cards. abit all the way if you have the money:)

I chose the 8KHA+ mainly cause it's been a good, fast reliable board for me. I had a DOA AK31 and a problematic XP333-R, but after having to RMA both of em...Epox came thru with a quality, reliable product.

I voted for the IWill XP333. You get a stable, high performing, cheap, very overclockable, and very tweakable motherboard for about $100. It has good onboard audio, and a RAID option is available. It seems to be underrated. My next vote would be for the 8KHA+. I have the board, and I think it's great. Very fast, stable, and tweakable as well.

People don't like the Iwill due to the ALi MAGiK1. I'm one of them. It offers a great feature set, and squeezes amazing performance from a rather crappy chipset. If only they did more than just ALi...

I disagree. Performance-wise, the C-revision of the ALi chipset on the Iwill XP-333 is much faster than the original revision found on the Iwill KA-266. It benches almost as fast as the VIA K266A, and many people say that their games run overall more smoothly on the XP-333 than they do on their VIA mainboards. Plus, the ALi southbridge offers terrific hard disk performance, especially when compared to VIA.

with epox and Iwill cranking it over 200Mhz for the FSB, soltek does not stand out in the least.

I can't believe the ECS Board is getting as many votes as it is. Mobo of the Year?? C'mon now......

Looks like I'll have to go against the grain here but I like the MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU. Got this board a while back and haven't had any problems at all (save for stupidity). The features are great and since I don't OC, I don't miss any of that stuff. This board has been great for me.

To those who don't believe it, you might as well. There's nothing out there that even comes close to the price/performance of this board -- not to mention the breath of fresh air the rock solid SiS 735 core logic brings to the table of the frustrated VIA user :D :p

It took Socket A to new heights at a ridiculously low price.
