Greetings,
I can't install XP Home (SP2) on the single SATA 60GB Maxtor,,, When it ask for the VIA 8237 SATA DRIVERS after the the F6 promp it hits the floppy then goes on installing XP... Then the nasty BLUE Screen appears telling me it has stopped to prevent damage to my computer and gives a different error every time I try to install XP..? Do I need two SATA drives, or can I install to a single SATA drive and Boot from it... I had the same problem with a Abit KV7 with 2x 60GB Samsung 8k SATA's, the local Computer Shop said it was a bad Serial Controller on the board & its on its way back RMA to Califorina...
Please Help in resolving my problem... GBT...

There may be an option in your bios that you need to change in order to use the SATA drive as your main drive.

I recently installed two SATA Seagate drives in my desktop, but both were storage drives. They work flawlessly.

Your hassle sounds like an isolated incident.

I avoid VIA chipsets at all costs.
