I got tired of how much of a time sink WoW is to accomplish anything, so I cancelled.

Are there any good SP RPGs out? I've thought about KOTOR 2, but there is no demo for it.

i would sooo love to get back into WoW, but i have a life now, and i hate the thought of trading my life for WoW. i would totally bone my hott chick friends rather than a lvl 60 tauren shaman.

i am much more a fan of older rpgs. I started replaying FFVI/FFIII awhile ago. Find yourself an emulator and do that.

Fallout is my favorite game. I wish there were more newer RPGs that has something other a fantasy base.

KOTOR 2 wasn't really that good, IMO, they didn't expand the storyline like they should. The character's didn't really get developed like they should have either.

BG1/2 are always good.

Planescape:Torment is still the definitive SP RPG. Heh, been out 6 years now and still hasn't lost crown. :)

Neverwinter Nights has tens of thousands of modules available as well.

As suggested:

Planescape: Torment
Fallout 1 - 2

Morrowind
Baldur's Gate 1 & 2
SW: KOTOR 1 & 2 (once second patch is out?)
Jagged Alliance 2 (technically a squad-level, turn-based tactical sim but the RPG elements are strong, I'd recommend it over Fallout Tactics though that was fun too)

What I've played of Final Fantasy IX is fun, I got FF VII - IX, Chronicles, Anthology off eBay pretty cheap along with a cheap used PSOne.

Played that a long time ago. I tried the second one, but couldn't get into it.

if you have an xbox I highly recommend Jade Empire. I'm playing a female character and am working on a lesbian relationship with one of the npcs. kudos, bioware ;)

Planescape: Torment is the best RPG of all time, and was recently selling on gogamer.com for 4.99.

Also:

Baldurs Gate I & II
Fallout I & II
FF VII
Icewind Dale I & II
Knights of the Old Republic I & II

deus ex, baldur's gate 1/2, NWN is ok, diablo1/2 (although diablo1 has better replay for SP)

Planescape gets talked up an awful lot... I played it for 5-7 hours and it just didn't do it for me. KOTOR2 is more or less KOTOR with different content. They add a few features, but not much. I'm still enjoying it, though. I had fun with NWN for a while, then dropped it. I've been meaning to go through FFIII again, I loved that game.
