Hell everyone,

I have a somewhat technical question regarding the NFII Chipset.

I own a DFI Ultra Infinity motherboard and a 2600+ Mobile. I currently have 2 x 512MB sticks of PC3200 installed and running in dual channel mode. My question is this...

Why is it when I run si soft sandra does it show that my bus is only 400mhz? its seems that if it was dual channel it would be 800mhz, correct?

I used to own a Intel chipset which was dual channel and when the fsb was 200mhz my "bus" in si soft sandra was 800mhz since it was dual channel.

Why is it now with this NFII chipset that im only seeing 400mhz even though its supposed to be "Dual" Channel? Is this true Dual channel or some type of marketing?

nF2 is double pumped 200mhz fsb, P4 is quad. Dual channel on nF2 indicates there are 2 64bit channels active, but of course the XP is much less bandwidth hungry than P4 so the gains outside of a few specific areas are minimal.

Not to mention that the bus between the CPU and memory controller is still only 400 MHz (effective) and still only 64-bit wide. So even quad memory channels wouldn't do anything.
