So, I've been researching motherboards for an E6400 build, but I inevitably just keep going in circles. I need some advice.
At first I was looking at the Asus P5B-D, because it is supposedly stable and a good OC'er. I am probably going to get an 8800GTS, so I wont be using the Crossfire. Does anyone know whether or not the P5B-E is basically the same as the Deluxe, except without the Crossfire? If not, what are the other differences?
Also, I've been looking at the Gigabyte motherboards. I'm pretty sure I want to go with the P965 chipset as it is supposedly stable and I don't need SLI. So, any other suggestions?
Basically, I need a motherboard that will OC pretty well, wont give me a ton of trouble setting up, and will work with a sythe Ninja cooler and DDR2-800 RAM.
I don't really care how much the board costs, as long as it works for what I need it for. I would go with the P5B-Deluxe if I thought it would be better than the "E" version...
I was also thinking about the EVGA 680i, but there seem to be numerous problems at this time, and once again, I don't need SLI.
Any advice?
Thanks
