IF you had a small record for selling weed, should you also list this under
previous employment experience as self-employment/business operation?

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

You list it under interests, take vacations.

as it turns out, the corporate world (in America) does not REALLY
value honesty. they just value the PRETENSE of honesty.

i suggest paying a few $$ to do a background check on yourself &
see if it comes up. if it does, you've got to tell them. if it doesn't,
don't tell them.

if you're in New Zealand or some other country, I don't know enough
about the corporate culture there.

and if they want you to clarify?

You operated a small buisness that catered to a diverse crowd interested in tropical horticultural specimens.

Just filled out a state application,(parks & rec.). Not only do they want criminal convictions listed, but misdemeanor as well. All well, and good you say, fine, BUT, they also want me to list parking tickets!!! How does one honestly answer that? I can't remember all the speeding, or other tickets I got 30+ years ago, let alone parking tickets. How would you have answered it? An arbitrary number? A few? or the famous Clinton response?

I believe most traffic and parking convictions aren't misdemeanors. It'll vary by state though.

QFT...find out what your employer does to screen candidates. If they see you have lied about a small detail they will not trust any further statements from you.

"I don't recall exactly, perhaps half a dozen?" an honest answer is an honest answer.

Selling weed is great on a resume. Shows you have experience working in sales under high stress and pressure environments, and you can still keep up with the work of actually packaging and handling the product in which you sell. If you apply at a garden store it could actually be quite humorous. "Dude, I can turn your greenhouse into a multi million dollar operation, we have to talk"

Sounds like the former drug dealer I know. He loves to talk big about how much money he made, but he still lives with his mom.
