Understandable if you're young, but she's around 43...she's have been over there in Britain THAT long. I think she just does it for show:disgust:

I've lived in North Carolina for 16 years (I'm 21) and I STILL haven't shaken my Northern accent.

I spent three weeks on a cruise, and picked up a slight british accent just two years ago (32 at the time).

It's easy to do. Mine disappeared after being home for a week though.

I worked with a guy from Pennsylvania for about three months and talked to a friend I hadn't seen in years. He asked if I had been on the east coast. :)

As Kathy Griffin so eloquently said: Madonna--born in Detroit, moved to New York City, IS British. She started that stupid accent thing a while ago, it's just odd.

When you live in a country for like more than a year, and you mingle with all the people, you do get the accent and their way of talking, believe me. Im one example, and I totally hate it. It couldn't be helped though! ;)

Shows up when ever it's handy. Kinda like southern accents on CB radio. Ever hear Clinton or Gore talk to a Southern crowd?? Hardly understandable..bunch of uawl jibberish.:)
