Hell in our manufacturing dept there is a guy in his late 40's who puts componets together making i guess 15 an hour. He has been here for many years and last year he bought a brand new Jag, owns a big ranch in Tennesee and owns a twin-engine Beechcraft 8 passenger airplane. How? inherantance.

You'd be surprised. I don't think even the director makes over $200k.Originally posted by: MikeyIs4Dcats
I bet there are plenty of doctors over at the CDC taking home some serious money...

Hehe...I doubt it. She doesn't seem like the Maserati type. Our last director drove a Ford Contour of all things.Originally posted by: Hammer

That's a Maserati coupe......depreciation seems to be worse than average. You can pick up a slighty used (read, less than 10,000 miles) for around 60k or so. Granted 60k is nothing to sneeze at, but you mentioned that you saw a CDC sticker. Isn't CDC = Center for Disease Control? I would think that a doctor working there would be able to afford such an auto. You could also just have a car nut that considers cars to be a greater priority in their life.

You'd have the money if you didn't spend it all on fancy bike parts.![]()
As Citrix pointed out, this is more than likely the case. There are a lot of people who work here with a spouse who works as a physician next door at Emory.Originally posted by: GTaudiophile
Who says he or she does not have a wealthy spouse?
I know teachers who make $30K per year who drive SL500 Mercs because hubby is a doctor or lawyer.

Salary isn't always the only source of income. Some people could be playing stock martket, others could be running a business or have some other investment. I work for a software company and we got BMWs, Mercs, Jag convertibles, supped up Mustangs. If you try hard enough you can find a way to afford something you want.
Well, may be she's moonlighting, you'd never know. :QOriginally posted by: Fausto
