Since when did Yahoo! start copying Google?

I mean really...

Yahoogle?

Yoogle Maps?

I find it pretty entertaining that a company that large can't even come up with something as 'oh so challenging' as their own UI.

As the saying might well go, "If it aint broke, don't fix it", I still find it a bit of an insult to see a company as big as Yahoo so blatantly copy Google.

Heck they've even followed suit with the whole 'beta' thing on their maps... 😕

How long has Yahoo's maps beta been around?

A lot less than google's, no?

Wayback dates back to the start of 2005 for Google, it's got f*ck all for Yahoo.

I don't know about the maps, don't care either, but the simple search is something they didn't copy from Google. Ever seen AltaVista? You know, one of the many search engines that Yahoo has owned for some time now and was on the net before Google?

Well, considering how they completely blew it by spamming their own home page, then resorting to adware tactics, I think they can't go wrong by copying something that does work.

Yahoo maps has been around for ages. True, the new beta version looks a lot like googles, but yahoo was first with mapping in general.

You do realize MSN Terraserver was WAYYYyyy before Google maps. I remember looking at Terraserver images in early 2003.

Plus, isn't Yahoo powered by Google?

yahoo maps has been around for sometime.

the beta with satellite view I guess you can call a copy but google doesn't have my area up to date.

its satellite view of my house puts the image about 3-4 years old when I didn't do landscaping yet.

On yahoo, landscaping is complete. Makes me feel so happy that with all that concrete makes my lot even bigger than my neighbors.

the traffic thing really cool. don't know if google has that feature yet or not.

news flash... every single search engine has copied googles simple, yet effective, interface.

Go ahead and look,
ask, altavista, mamma

it really is quite pathetic.
