I am dumbfounded by the idea that anyone would think a legitimate lawsuit could be file over something like this.

80 cals worth. Vitamin water has upwards of 120 I think. Though the bottle is so big the split the serving size into two. Like you're only going to drink half the bottle...

Dissolving something in water doesn't CHANGE the chemistry of water. You would need a Hydrolytic or Hydration reaction to do that.

Did you actually thinking putting Table Salt in water will produce Hydrochloric Acid and pure Sodium? :awe: Put the burner up to 1000 Kelvin, maybe. 🙄

Chemistry Lesson:

Flavor enriched water are compounds dissolved evenly and that exist as + and - ions suspended within the liquid, which remains as a whole 99&#37; H2O.

check out sobe lifewater, 0 calories and most of it taste good. it's flavored and I wouldn't substuit it for water but having one every now and then should be ok.

SoBe Lifewater is good stuff if you're not drinking pure water.

These are not trace amounts of substances (like iodine or phosphorus) and they specifically added these components to alter it's image, taste, and perception.

It's chemical composition has not been altered. There still is H2O, and that is not different by adding crap to it. More accurately there are other chemical compounds suspended in H2O.

Actually, yes they are. It's just that Beer has alcohol (obviously), sugars, and other dehydrating properties that removes the point of drinking it as substitution for water itself (to hydrate).

Those things use H2O as a vehicle for delivery. A suspension if you will to get them into your stomach. Otherwise, you'd be eating tablets or something.
 
If you stop drinking most liquids with calories (ex. soda, sweet tea, non-black coffee, high calorie health and sports drinks), you're going to lose weight. I think most people understand this.

It's just a solution. The water is probably still 98 or 99% purity, which his enough to still be called water.
 
when I started seeing a nutritionist a couple years ago to lose weight, one of the first things she told me was to stop drinking beverages with calories (other than milk) since they're basically empty calories and do nothing to satiate hunger. better off sticking with water or diet drinks and getting your calories from real food.

Most of the "enhanced waters" are not harmful, period. Sugar, calories, they are not the enemy.

The enemy, is retardation.
It is like people drinking powerade or gatorade when all they do is sit at the office or house all day.

If the water contains fats, okay you have a very valid rant, because no water needs to contain even a trivial amount of fat.

But hell, most of those companies with enhanced waters also have Light versions which have a negligible amount of calories. 10 (per bottle or serving, not sure) is something I've seen in some of the Vitamin Waters I have drank. But I don't really like any of the vitamin waters. Tastes like chemicals. But, vitamins are like that.

And in the end, if you have one vitamin water a day, or you drink it like you would an electrolyte-replenisher (gatorade, powerade) when you have an active lifestyle, it's not bad.

But seeing as their nutritional facts are plain and easily visible on the bottle, for all of the drinks, anybody who is retarded enough to not mind their calories in =< calories out, deserves whatever comes to them.

To me, I see all of those enhanced waters, including electrolyte beverages, as water. It functions the exact same in the body, and the additives are far from harmful for the market they are designed for. Simple carbs are a great thing if you will use them.

but I agree that it's pretty stupid in the case of canned drinks and bottles under like 1L

serving size fuckery annoys me to no end, especially in the case of cereal when the nutrition labels on healthy cereals are all based on 1 cup and then the same manufactures shrink the serving size down to 1/2 or 3/4 cup on the boxes of Frosted Sugar Marshmallow O's to make them look not as bad in comparison.

That is the problem. Simple carbs are great for the middle of some sort of activity that uses calories (excercise for example) where you are burning cals and need to get an energy source quickly.

The problem is that most people drink them because they taste good, and then sit around and do nothing with those extra calories. Also, the drinks in the Mens Health link are not any that I would choose to consume during a workout. Unless of course I was running 200 miles and just needed calories (ala "Ultramarathon Man").

Indeed. The only way I can really regulate my crap food intake is to just not have the food available to me. I can limit myself sometimes by leaving the food in the pantry, but not as much as I'd like.

my grocery expenses are roughly the same now (with me at 165) as they were when I weighed 450... I do eat out a shitton less, though.

I still buy junk food on occasion, but I'll buy like a candy bar or one of those single-serving ice cream containers instead of a pack of 10 bars and a quart of ice cream.
